C10.7.5.2 How Behaviour Affects Safety
Factors affecting behaviour can generally be split into three categories:
Organisational Factors:
These include management aspects of health and safety e.g. the culture; leadership and commitment of managers; resourcing of health and safety; work patterns; setting and monitoring of targets etc.
Job Factors:
These include task related factors such as ergonomics; the working environment (light and temperature etc.); time available; the level of concentration required etc.
Individual Factors:
These relate to positive and negative behaviour; age; competence; motivation and fatigue, etc.
