C10.7.4 Sustainability Culture

Sustainability culture is a part of the overall culture of the organisation and is seen as affecting the attitudes and beliefs of members in terms of sustainability performance. Culture is often defined as:

“The product of individual and group values, attitudes, perceptions, competencies and patterns of behaviour that determine the commitment to, and the style and proficiency of, an organisation’s management.”

It can be difficult to describe what a culture is, but you can judge whether a company has a good culture from what its employees actually do rather than what they say.
