Waste and Emissions Trading Act 2003 (Commencement No. 1) Order (Northern Ireland) 2004 SR 399 

This Order appointed 17th September 2004 as the day for the coming into operation of sections 4, 5, 9 and 10 of the Waste and Emissions Trading Act 2003 (“the 2003 Act”) and the 17th September 2004 as the day for the coming into operation of section 20 of the 2003 Act.

Waste Incineration Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003 SR 390

Amends 2003/46, particularly on incineration and co-incineration of waste.

Waste Incineration (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2004 SR 35

Amends an error in 2003/390.

Waste Management Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2006 SR 280

Extends the regime for ‘controlled waste’ to bring mine, quarry and agricultural waste within waste management control. Categorises waste as household, industrial or commercial.

Waste Management (Miscellaneous Provisions) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2008 SR 18

Amends 2003/493, adds exemptions for ash from incinerating pig or poultry carcasses, dredgings from ditches, mushroom compost and pesticide disposal. Removes exemption for dark smoke caused by burning containers contaminated by pesticides.

Waste Management Licensing Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003 SR 493

Covers applications for waste management licences, which authorise the deposit, disposal and treatment of controlled waste. Includes conditions on the use of certain mobile plant.

Waste Management Licensing (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009 SR 76

Makes changes to the regime of waste management licensing exemptions in Northern Ireland to ensure compliance with the Hazardous Waste Directive.
