C2.9.9 Documentation
Certain elements of an EMS must be documented. The amount of documentation required will depend upon the size and complexity of the organisation. Some very small companies may not need written procedures as verbal instructions suffice. However, larger companies and those occupying more than one site will need for example, a suite of environmental procedures.
As a minimum, most organisations with an EMS will have a documented Environmental Policy, an Environmental Manual (outlining the EMS and signposting to relevant documents) and some written environmental procedures with their associated forms.
