A1.2.4.1 Photosynthesis

Photosynthesis is the name for the process during which plants use sunlight and water to create sugar. This occurs in chlorophyll (the green part of plants).

Plants absorb water from the soil through their roots and carbon dioxide through their leaves. The sugar produced is used by green plants to make starch, fats and proteins.

Leave have tiny pores on them, which the plants use to release the oxygen.
