C10.8.6 European Energy Efficiency Label
All European manufacturers and retailers must give consumers information about the energy efficiency of certain household electrical appliances (e.g. fridges and washing machines).
The aim is to ensure that customers may easily select energy efficient products if they wish. Part of the label is the energy efficiency rating scale, which indicates the product’s efficiency. ‘A’ is the most efficient, whilst to ‘G’ is the least efficient. The energy consumption figure shows the units of electricity use in kWh, which allows comparisons between models.
