Through managing your environmental performance you will be able to reduce risk. That is reduce the financial risks to your organisation through effective resource use and processes, as well as reduced risk of prosecution. The true cost of a prosecution is not simply the fine. There will be court costs, there may be costs you must pay to remedy the environmental damage you caused and you may well lose current customers and be taken off tender lists.
